Phase 2: Determination of Scope and Resources Required to Extend and Expand the Twin Cities Demonstration Project to the State of Minnesota

The objective of Phase 2 will be to establish the scope and resources required to expand and extend United States Annex 49 preliminary assessment of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul to the entire State of Minnesota, which will be conducted under Phase 3.

Phase 2 will be jointly conducted by the author of United States Annex 49 Technical Report, David Solberg (Solberg Engineering, LLC) and Exergy, Ltd, an internationally recognized sustainability research organization located in Coventry, UK.  The extended Minnesota study will include demonstrations of current practice and sustainable practice for each major activity in the State including:

  • Plant and meat farming which is major source of harmful water emissions to rivers, lakes, and aquifers
  • Large electric, water, waste water, and district/heating cooling plants
  • Garbage incineration
  • Residential homes, hospitals, office buildings
  • Food processing and ethanol plants
  • Iron and copper mining
  • Oil refining
  • Automobile, buses, trains, shipping, and pipelines

Each facility to be investigated will be identified in Phase 2.

Phase 2 will outline the report to be issued under Phase 3.
